You’re always looking at something.

Whether a passing glance, a scroll, or something that you study –

what you look at shapes who you are.

Perhaps you’ve begun to realize that what you have been looking at is not what you want to live by.

maybe what you're looking at disappoints you. maybe what you're looking at is draining, full of comparison and busyness.. it hasn't produced the kind of joy and life you long for.

Is this you?

Do you need a place to fix your eyes?

A place of steadiness, of security, of hope and healing and help?

If this is you,

lift up your eyes.

Pick up your head and look to the One, the only One who is worthy of beholding.

Come and see the One who created us to behold in the first place.

I lift up my eyes to the hills –

where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Behold God, oh my soul,

behold God and be changed by Him: His Son, His Spirit, his help and holiness and heart for you.

Beholding is not just about perspective,

it is the very purpose of the life of a believer: to know God and behold him: his glory, his goodness, his grace.

and when we behold him and belong to him, we become like Him. Beloved, if we are in Christ, we are now God's children, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
